BS. Typically the only LEGAL way the wealthy get to "eat for free" is by charitable contributions out the wazoo; there's not amount of tax writeoffs in existance than can now defeat AMT in it's current form. Are you telling me charitable contributions are a bad thing and something that's evil???

Face it; the tax code is designed to punish success and reward mediocrity (or simply leave it be). The tax bracket that the wealthy are tossed into by default is simple proof of that.

What irks me to no end is that those that typically tout "equality" over all else go completely silent when a fair tax code is tabled for discussion (say a flat tax of 10%). Screwing the wealthy out of money isn't fair, though I'm aware that it does give the "entitlement" crowd a false sense of fairness.

For those that whine that they have too much money and that think that a bureaucracy as inefficient as the US government can handle their money better than they can themselves, then I propose a "guilt tax" or "idiot tax", where movie stars and the like can dump their extra earnings into Uncle Sam's coffers...

I honestly don't mind taxes, but I do mind the way they have taken shape over the last couple of decades and I do mind that in some ways I could get more value for my tax dollars by actually taking it and flushing it down the nearest toilet, since spending on Capitol Hill has gotten completely out of control.

To put it another way, if the US government was a stock that was listed on the NASDAQ or NYSE, it would tank within minutes of it's open and be delisted at the end of the day...
