Took my svt to the track last night and for the life of me couldn't get it to run under 16 seconds... Last time I was there I hit 15.5 with a bad alternator. The car is stock (exception of an intake) and I installed a new alternator several months ago.

During WOT in 2nd-4th gear the car seems to jerk all the way through its power band. After getting on it for a run or two, my clutch pedal also suddenly becomes VERY light and easy to push down, but it still works. Is this sign of a slipping clutch or is it something else? The car has 70k miles, and nothing has been changed besides the alternator and intake.

A friend suggested the engine jerking may be the plugs, and the clutch problem may be my fluid boiling. I'm using regular dot3 fluid, and my plugs have never been replaced (as far as I know...)
