having read this thread and having seen Petes car yesterday I do have to say, for the condition that the paint is in the pc was the way to go. the hand polishing didn't come close to the feel and look of the pc part of the trunk lid
btw I saw this car before Pete tried anything on it, the paint was tough
so for beat up paint the pc is the way to go ...
