Mine were completely worthless. I worked at it with the guys at the local stereo shop for 2 hours before it said f*** it and just smashed the front bezel to pieces, I was then able to stick a small flat screwdriver between the head unit and the trim and got the clips popped. I did scratch the trim a bit but only in areas where the head unit or mounting kit covers it up so no big deal (unless you wanted to save the factory stereo).

I would have gone to a different shop if it took 2 hours...

ok, again...if the clips inside are [censored], there's little you can do to get it out without destroying the radio.

even still you have to pry it out from the side.
and if you're super lucky like i was, the metal clips that hold the trim on are also messed up and must be destroyed and replaced as well.

Like I said in an earlier reply, the sledge-hammeer mod is quite a satisfying end to a difficult stock radio extraction.

15 pounder here.
I'm still finding bits and pieces of it around the shop three months later.

oh believe me i wanted to but if i ever sell the car im probly gonna want to keep my mp3 cd deck so i still have the factory am/fm cassete in storege but the funny thing is i have after market speakers in the from and i don't thing the factory head unit will power them that well plus one of the rear speakers is gone so if i ever sell the car its gonna suck for who ever buys it untill he/she gets a aftermarket head unit
