If those lights are blazing in my window like a 1 million candle-power spotlight while I'm trying to sleep, then it's the exact same lack of courtesy and respect. No difference if it's light pollution or noise pollution. Common sense SHOULD dictate how you act towards/around your neighbors. I'm betting you wouldn't think twice about picking up the phone and calling someone at midnight either, would you?
And the "everybody does it" mentality you used as a 'supporting argument' (read 'excuse') for this action a few posts back does not excuse nor justify your juvenile behavior in making that kind of noise at on a week-night.
If I'd been the cop, I would have arrested both of 'em. The neighbor for trespassing, and the friend for assault. Let them both spend a night in jail and let the court straighten it out.
Unfortunatly (for us all) common sense and courtesy to others is no longer taught in our country either by schools or parents. What is taught is screw anyone else as long as you get/do what YOU want. This country needs an enema!
