It's the fact that it was going on at 11PM that's the problem. If it started at dusk/dark and was done by 10 at the latest, I wouldn't have cared as much. I'm willing to cut my neighbors some slack - everyone has their thing - but mutliple nights of 11PM and later fireworks is taking advantage of my tolerance.

Exactly Viss1. The TIME it was going on was the problem, not that they were shooting the fireworks off in the first place. I am not a stick in the mud, but dang, it's called COMMON COURTESY. You don't want people playing their stereos really loud at 11pm when you have to work in the morning. Just because it's the holiday weekend doesn't mean people don't have to work. I swear, the young folks these day just don't have common courtesy. I am 34 and I am calling them young folks. LOLOLOL that's funny.........

me too, that's really rude. What about sleeping kids in the neighborhood but I guess since YOU were having fun it doesn't matter huh? Ever heard of the noise law MOST cities have? I wouldn't have gone out with a camera, but I would have definately called the police on ya.
Learn to have some respect for your neighbors why don't ya. It's ok to do that on the 4th of July or New Year's, it's expected, but not on the friggin 2nd and DEINFATELY not that late at night. That's just plain rude.

Its a couple days at most.
Besides, no one really likes the crazy neighbor who complains and or calls the cops over every little thing
Its not going to hurt a kid who is kept up a little later over fireworks.

I'm guessing you don't have kids. "A couple hours" can turn into all night, depending on the kid. Don't think that just because you inconvenience somebody "just a little bit" that it's okay...
The "you'll get over it" mentality is far too rampant in this country...until it happens to you, of course.

Yeah, because they really seemed like a mature group that would say "Hey, we're sorry, we'll save these for the 4th". Courteous people don't "tackle" others to the ground.

If you read the original post again, you'll see why the guy went on the defense. Personally, I wouldn't take some random guy popping out of a bush/tree, then running at me, sticking a camera in my face(ON MY PROPERTY), telling me he's calling the cops, very lightly(and I'm pretty laid back). It's obvious that the police have that same mentality, or they wouldn't have just let the 5th degree assault, go un-punishable.

Then there's the part that you didn't quote me on, or question. The fact that it doesn't even get dark until 10:00(with daylight savings). The fireworks show here in town didn't go off until after 10:00, and lasted until 11:00. Are you suggesting that they start an hour earlier, and do them in the daylight? Or should they just cancel fireworks altogether? The only thing I see wrong, was that it wasn't ON the 4th that they were lighting off the fireworks. But you'll NEVER get around that, as people EVERYWHERE light off fireworks from ~July 1st - ~July 8th.

Yes, local assclowns around here also forget that the fourth of July is a DAY. Not two days or a week. ONE DAY. THE 4th of July. Some people are totally lacking in common sense and courtesy. And pick up the f*%#*&g wrappers from the shizit you lazy slobs!

This was my point exactly. You just summed it up a lot better than I did. Some people just need something to complain about.
