Are both you and the crazy neighbor homeowners?
If so, you may face YEARS of dealing with that neighbor.
Yet you gripe to CEG about the neighbor with the camera instead of your fists-of-fury buddy/brother with the hair triggers, and you can't deal with constructive criticism.

I'd have called the cops on you, too. That was just plain unthoughtful, rude, or discourteous (however you want to make it out to be). As much fun as you were having, or as well as YOUR collective children slept doesn't make their right to a little sleep at 11 freakin PM any less important. Trying to wash away the importance of his stance by saying "but our kids slept well" or "he's the only one that was mad" doesn't change anything.
I wouldn't have brought out a camera, unless I (perhaps) thought that by approaching your group that we might get in to a fight, and then I'd want all the evidence I could have against you and your wanton bullying. Seems to me the "crazy camera" neighbor did what ended up being (most likely) the smartest thing he could have by bringing that camera with him.
What were you going to do if you DID get his camera? Smash it to protect yourself? Geez. To think that people of your groups mentality are driving around on the same roads I do, and to think that I might have actually taken the time to wave at you as you passed by. Makes me just a little upset to know that it was the likes of someone like that.

Buncha people are stupid. Just for one week or so, he could let the fireworks slide. Your buddies hitting him was a bit much, but I think it's funny they got off because of him trespassing.

Crazy neighbor is right. What happened to taking things into your own hands, and just talking to someone? I'd be willing to bet, if he asked to stop with the fireworks, it wouldn't have been a big deal. I personally don't want to start anything with my neighbors, and don't need the cops being called on me either. Nobody WANTS to cause trouble, so I'm sure it wouldn't have been no big deal to just call it a night.
On a side note, this is my first year(being in Indiana) experiencing daylights savings time. It doesn't even get dark until 10:00!!! Lighting off fireworks in broad daylight = teh suck!

Yeah, because they really seemed like a mature group that would say "Hey, we're sorry, we'll save these for the 4th". Courteous people don't "tackle" others to the ground.
