English has caligraphy too. I suppose that's not entirely the same as cursive, although you can see where one came from the other.





Japanese has the caligraphy style, and a plain easy-to-read style. The limited ability to customize the written word and still have it legible and understandable is one reason they (mis)use english so much in their advertising and labeling. If you want a really good laugh check out engrish.com.
