Try a nice dry one... it might change your mind. The winery I used to work at did an awesome dry riesling the season I was there. Blew me away the first time I tried it.

I like it.

I have had Chateau St. Michelle several times. It pales in comparison to my previously mentioned choices, and it costs more to boot!

Pete D, I will have to give the Rolf Binder a try. Sounds enticing.

91 points. From one of Australia's finest winemakers, this blend of 85% Eden Valley and 15% Barossa fruit reveals gorgeous pithy green apple and pear-like notes with hints of citrus oil and crushed rocks. Fragrant and chalky, with a distinctive terroir element. This wine stands out brilliantly for its precision, richness, complexity, and ageworthiness. $14"

Am I the only one who finds this description not the least bit inviting? It makes me think its gonna taste like biting into an apple and then licking a chalkboard!

I agree. Wine descriptions are not the most appetizing things.

We've always liked Bridgeview Blue Moon, Cheap and consistent, Hogue late harvest reisling is very good as well. If you can afford it adn have interest in learning about them, the various sweetness of German Reislings can be awesome, especially from teh 2002 vintage, probably the best year ever for German Reisling. Very spendy for that year but it's worth it.

Riesling is the first, and one of the very few, wines I actually like. So far we've tried several varieties, but like the Starling brand best.

Humerous and Extremely doubtful as the University of Pennsylvania is nationally reknown as one of the best if not the best schools for restaurant/hotel/beverage. mgmt in the country. Right along side of UNLV and Johnson and Wales. Look it up. THAT is where I will take my information from. NOT a "wine-o" like yourself. Thats like saying Harvard (a very good law school) Law Professors "can be, and often are, wrong in some of the facts and/or methods they espouse and inflict upon unsuspecting children".

Talk about humerous. Do you even know what a sommelier is??? HAHA!! Calling me a wine-o! ROFL!!

All well & good then Sparky, but your arguement is still weak. So far you've only thrown out opinions about riesling that are not backed by fact. I've offered facts to refute the opinions of both you & your professors.

When you toss out opinion & label it as fact, you WILL get called out for it. I suggest you retract your statements or offer up some facts to back them up, not just more opinions from more UP drones.

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.
