he has a 95. Chances are AutoZone and the like won't be able to read it anyway since most of them only have OBD-II scanners for 96-03 vehicles.

On a 95, the codes can be read with noithing mre han a paper clip and an operational CEL light.

The instructions are probably on the main site, but are also available at www.fordfuelinjection.com

The codes would provide information about anything the computer has self-detected. Without them, it is pretty much impossible to do anything other than guess about the cause of this car's troubles.
