Give it a little time. Verizon is working on changing that. When I had my FIOS installed about a month ago, the installer said they'll be offering cable television in about 8 months. Sorry Comcast, but your price gouging is going to have to come to an end when Verizon offers the same package for $50/mo. less!!
Mark
i am looking forward to FIOS coming to my area. already in areas that FIOS and comcast compete, comcast has released 15/2 connection speed. .

yeah I already hate paying $50/month for cable, so I'm very hesitant to add on an internet package to that just yet.

yep and I think you're crazy for it. hehe But you're bigger into watching movies than we are. All I need is some of the usual sports channels and discover/history etc on top of local stations. Sucks paying $50/mo for that.

Exactly why we dropped Comcast. $120 a month for just a decent amount of channels and internet. The only cable package below it had NOTHING worth watching.
I think we pay $130 now for phone, internet, and TV with DVR and most channels.

WHATEVER!!!
i had dishnetwork for about 6 months. lost signal on a weekly basis. it was unacceptable. cloudy day? no tv. light rain shower? no tv. compare with my cable which has lost signal 1 time for a lightning strike to the area node. yeah, cable > satelite.
i pay $170/month for HD Digital cable (270 something channels), home phone service (with all the bells and whistles) and 8/765 internet

150 for digital cable, home phone, and a cable connection that rivals my friends t1. d/l speeds at 3-5 megs. no packet loss. all fiber optic cable from the house to the server. never have a problem other then server maintenance scheduled oddly.

I've had snet/sbc/at&t or whatever they are now since it was first available in my area years and years ago. Never any major problems, never any letters about content downloading, and when it rarely goes down, I can use my account for dialup. The only problem is that they've been charging less and less, and no one told us We've were paying 40/mo for dsl when it should be closer to 20 now.
