as far as dsl goes...it still doesn't compare in speed and reliability to cable. Yes, it depends alot on what area you're in. Around here, i've had nothing but headaches with DSL...Quite often you get told it will work where you are, only to find after repeated service calls and tech support calls that they made a mistake and apologise.

However, i can't wait for verizon's fios to be available in my neighborhood. Even their cheapest package is faster up and down than cable.
