Yeah I read it, but I still don't get it 100%. Can someone get a little more into detail as what I will have to modify and change in order to get the SVT Cams on?
This is what I got so far, replacement of the cams, timing chain (most likely different pitch), and Guides.
What about the camshafts will I need to modify?
Sal
His post explains it. Remember how your WP failed...and you replaced it. You realized that you did not have the Cam driven W/P. So therefore you will need to cut that one camshaft.

Exactly, to explain it in easiest terms...1 of these cam is longer than the others...(sing it ) But seriously, 1 of the camshafts is longer and had a pully on the end. This is the pully that drives the water pumps on the SVT engine the cams came from. Since your car has the electric waterpump and not a cam driven one, you need to removed the "extra" bit off that one cam. Pretty simple eh?

There are enough later model 3L heads that are floating around, probably for free too! Get a set of ovalport 2001 heads and stick the SVT cams in those 3L heads without any modifications. Bear in mind once you cut it it would be worthless to anyone except a person with a 96-99 3L duratec. While you are at it you can port the heads, do a little polish work and of course do any mods necessary to match the taurus lower intake.

Oval 3Ls don't work with the 96-99 Taurus, do they? Or can I get them to?
I was planning on adding the SVT Cams, Porting work on the uppper, lower, and heads. Let me know what combination would work best.
Thanks,
Sal
