If you don't have a power polisher, you could try Meguiar's ScratchX by hand. I removed a leaf imprint from my Jeep hood (the Jeep is dark blue so it was very noticeable). I've also "greatly reduced" the appearance of scratches left behind from a dog jumping up to the window of a customer's car.
