I'm about to tackle the fuel pump on my 2000 V6. Been reading the information and have a question. Exactly how does the Focus pump regulate the fuel pressure? If I understand what I'm reading and if it's correct, it's controlled by the ECM modulating the power to the pump?? If that's true, will the Contour ECM control it?

Why does it matter? It works and that's why 100's of people have done it.

If you have a returnless system the Contour PCM along with the fuel pump controller control the voltage signal to the pump and thus the fuel pump pressure.

As you were so politely told, yes, it works. It has been validated by many before you.
