despite the low kms of my car , i have the fuel-pump hesitation issue on low fuel . in order to preserve cash , i would really like to avoid buying a new pump & having the dealer drop the gas tank & install it .
newest recommendation i received was to axis the FP via the rear-seat portal & remove the disc-screen & ALSO REMOVE THE FILTER SOCK ! theory is we do this 1 time & there can no longer be any more power cuts !
i asked : is it okay to remove the sock and the answer i got was : THE FUEL FILTER IS A FINER SCREEN THAN THE SOCK ; so there shouldn't be any risk of clogging the injectors .
i will do this & change the fuel filter more often if the esteemed CEG'ers here agree with the mechanics view !
