I don't see NASCAR as being too supportive of motorsports in general. I don't see campaigns to get people out to the local dirt oval to see local people running bomber class or better yet, to encourage people to get behind the wheel and live it for themselves.

I see a lower percentage than other sports where people are passionate about the actual sport, versus passionate fans of their particular driver. This is a shame, as it could be the catalyst of a new generation of people truly passionate about cars.

You're kidding right?

NASCAR has MANY lower classes that are held at smaller tracks. The even smaller tracks scattered across the country are the stepping stone to NASCAR.

And NASCAR gets many people into cars and many more into working on them (even have their own school for it). It may not seem like it really gets people into motorsports because it's sorta like how people are into football. So many people are into it but have nothing to do with playing or working for the teams. I'm guessing NASCAR probably gets more people into motorsports than other kinds of races because it is a more common event and is easier to get into than say F1 or WRC. Not to mention that the people that are into the other kinds of racing are probably already some sort of 'car guy'.

Yet they don't really provide good publicity for them. I don't see association advertisements promoting these events or tracks. Like WRC has amateur variants you can take your car to and participate if you so desire.

Well I've see much more advertisements for NASCAR events of various types more so than WRC,etc. In fact, other than car magazines/internet, I don't see anything about motorsports other than dirtbikes, drag racing, and NASCAR. Maybe it's a regional thing.

I agree, Nascar is pointless because all they do is go around an oval for 500 laps and waste all the god damn fuel in the world and waste everything, NASCAR SUCKS its a real waste of American racing technology. I wish Nascar was like F1, BOO NASCAR

Were is the sign that says raise your hand to talk? A few of the veterans on here contribute and have intellegent information to share, while others only know how to talk trash and act like little kids that need to have everyone agree with them to make them feel special. As for being a troll I do own a Contour, I have been posting from time to time what I'm doing with it. Also I have been enjoying the automotive hobby for over 30 years and I work in the
automotive industry. This site has some good information about Contours on it, but I have seen some of the so called veterans on here attack people for no reason and when they get some of the same treatment back they whine, cry and complain. If you want this site for the use of a few then have Lance make it a pay to play site and you will have it all to your selves. Until then I will continue to post as I see fit with in the rules. See guys you can make a point with out once bring up body parts or calling names or putting someone down to make yourself feel good. It does not feel good to be stereotyped does it.

Yeah they never go to road course or nuffin.

F1 cars would fall apart if treated like a stock car. Their suspensions can't handle hitting a wall even slightly hard.

lol what technology? seriously I wont go that far as saying that it sucks but theres really nothing in it that would make me be like oh wow thats pretty cool as suppose to say F1 where a whole race may depend on what compound tires u may use, or how much downforce ur car has or maybe even how your pit/fuel strategy is..

Oh yeah none of that makes a difference in stock car racing.
