I've driven a 04 and it was not awe inspiring in anyway. If you like it and will be happy with it, then go for it.

Agreed. If he wants my whole review, it's in the Lounge here.

Are you comparing that to a stock LGT? If so, you are smokin something. Even an 04 will smoke a stock LGT. The LGT's are good for low 14's, possibly a high 13 stock if you are a good driver, whereas the LS1 GTO's are good for mid 13's easy. That is a BIG difference.

I like the GTO, but I don't know a lot about them. The only experience I had was sitting in one at a car show. I don't know if it was because it was a show car or what, but the interior seemed kind of cheap. The climate control knobs felt like they would pop off in your hand if you were a little rough with them. Other than that it seems like a lot of car for your money, I definitely want to drive one before I buy another car. I also like the low key look they have, it has the sleeper factor which is cool.

The GTO has one of the best quality interiors to come out of GM in a long time. Yes the climate control knobs do feel kinda cheap, but that is about the only issue interior-wise.

You are correct, I forgot about the dash layout and colors, it's one of the nicer ones I've seen. In fact instead of saying "cheap interior" I should have just said "some cheap nobs" because that really seems to be the only issue like you said.

This is a good deal on a 2005 GTO. The guy reports that he is in the navy and the GTO debt is affecting his security clearance.

That is my IDEAL GTO right there. I want it in that color and everything.

EDIT: Other than it being an Auto, I would want the 6 speed.
