I wonder if you just replace the resonator with a glasspack, you'd probably like that. I liked the way the car sounded with the glasspack, Allen did too ( I had the same set up as he did), stock mufflers w/glasspack. Sounded nice on the downshifts too.
At least glasspacks are resonably priced so you won't have to spend a lot to get a good sound.
