You'd have to leave kinda early to get here on 1 on a weekend. It takes about 3.5-4 hours to get from Monterey to SLO on 1. It would be fun though. However I wouldn't want anybody to wear themselves out just getting here. On 101 it takes about 2.5-3 from SJ to SLO.
