And also, I have a totally lame question for anyone in the group. What exactly is the resonator? It is apparently not what I thought it was.
ok - so i replaced the resonator (it's the first of 3 mufflers on an SVT) - it's located behind the Y-pipe and under the front seats... the stock resonator is built to reduce noise and it hampers performance (anywhere from 3-5HP) - so the RPM Muffler was ~$100, install was $45 (my mishaps above cost me an additional $35-40 so learn to get the right part)
i didn't touch the rear mufflers, they're stock SVT - and my car is MUCH louder than before... it maybe a bit much on a long trip, but i'm usually anywhere within a 1/2 hour
