The new Quest does away with most of these issues that you speak of, have you driven the 06/07 models? The center mount guage pod goes away as does the location of the storage pods.
Overall I'd vote for the Toyota or the Honda. I'd never buy a new American made minivan myself, they depreciate like a stone as soon as you drive off of the lot. Better to pick up an off lease model and save yourself 20k IMHO.

From reading this thread, I know you don't want another "get a Honda or Toyota" post...but let me quickly type "get a Honda or a Toyota." We have an Odyssey and are very happy with it. FWIW, I'm not anti-DCX; I'd love to be driving one of their Cummins powered trucks or an SRT-8.

I have a 2002 Sedonna but I would never buy another. Great warranty and standard equipment, but waaay to many problems. Friends who have the Chyslers report alot of transmission problems. And friends who have the Oddesey and Sienna said they have had zero problems. All my friends have left Coolsville and drive minivans.

Get an '89 Dodge Caravan ES. -Minivan Check -Turbocharger Check -5-speed MTX Check -Smoky burnouts AND wood laminate siding Check -Blowing off Mustangs......Something you would come to appreciate driving a turbovan. But don't take my word for it....

I am going to have to agree with Honed Diva on all accounts this time. I really am not a fan of any DCX vans. All I have heard about are tranny problems, warranty will usually cover it, but its still a waste of time.
I would seriously look at the new Entourage or Sedona. They seem to be right between the Domestic Mini-vans and the Japs.
The new Hyundai is definitely something to check out and it comes with the warranty and a decent price tag to boot.
The Nissan Quest that I have been in all had hidious, cheap feeling interiors. I liked the power train but the inside was the major turn off.
i'd give the Koreans a closer look as well as the Mazada MPV.
But you seem set on the DCX. Going that route definitely buy a slightly pre-owned one. It's not worth taking the depreciation hit for a new domestic vehicle nowadays.

I've only been in one Quest. It had only 7,000 miles but rattled something awful and always acted up - as if it had over 200K miles. Granted it is the college taxivan (driven by assistants to the police dept), but minivans should be designed to withstand abuse and stop-and-go traffic without falling apart as that one did.
