Ok I am about to buy a 2006 Chrysler Town & Country Limited. The Limited is fully loaded version Navigation, power everything etc,the only "options" it has in it are Sirius and rear DVD. The best deal I can find is $34,000, and they will put on running boards for me. So does this sound like a good deal? The dealer sticker price is $39,145. Just looking for some opinions and/or advice.

I've hear too many bad things about Town & Country minivan. That's a good price though. I'd have to wonder why they are willing to sell a $40K minivan for $34K though.

I have a 2004 Ford Freestar and I love it. It was like $36K and I don't have a dvd or navigation, but I got everything else. I got it knocked down to $28K cause my uncle is retired from Ford. LOL

Well, there is a $4k rebate on the T&C plus any haggling you can get out of the dealer so that price sounds OK but not out of this world.

Personally, I wouldn't get any American minivan, they just aren't competative anymore. It's a shame since we started it but the Japanese are definitey in the lead.

Heck for $34,595 (MSRP) you can get an Odyssey EX-L with nav and the rear seat entertainment stuff. Wayyyy better than the T&C.

Yeah, I've actually heard that the Toyota Sienna is the best minivan on the market for safety and reliability

Oh, and the Sienna is made in Kentucky with 95% American parts

Edmunds lists the price in my hood at $29,977 as there is a $4,000 rebate.

Edmunds lists MSRP as $36,500 and I added moonroof and silver paint to get to $36,915. Invoice $33,761 and TMV of %$33,977

Ok the reason I want a T&C is simple StoNGo. If you have never seen check it out. Plus I really just do not like the look of the other vans especially the new Chevy Uplander. And I will not be getting the 4k rebate as I am getting the 0%apr. The moon roof is a no go because it deletes the side curtain airbags. Should have told about the 0%apr my bad.

Honestly Chrysler puts out a pretty darn good minivan, it doesn't have the horsepower/refinement that the Odyssey has but for a minivan they are pretty darn good. Stow n Go is extremely handy and is much easier to deal with then any other seat system that I've seen. They quite inexpensive compared to the foriegn ones. One thing I've noticed is that the dealers sell them for much less then the sticker, the foriegn ones sell much closer to sticker. The japanese ones also have a much better resale value. My Inlaws just purchased a town and country, pretty basic one with the sto n go and with rear heat/air. It was a "slightly" used 05 with about 15k on it. I think that they paid 13999. With all domestic cars it might pay to checkout the lease and rental returns, which can be come by for quite a price.

That was my thought going in is to buy a used. But with all the options I want it is a very hard find. StoNGo was not introduced till 05. So I am looking for a 05 or 06 used Limited. I found 1 Touring loaded up with a price of $22,000. I tried to talk him down to $20,500; left the lot for less than an hour got back it was sold. I have 1 or 2 of the limited online used but the price is $26,000 to $29,000 after interest at around 8% I am looking at $31,631 to $35,281. So I figured I would go new and get the color I want and all kinds of warranty for 2 or 3 grand more.

Yea the limited ones are difficult to find used for a decent price. I noticed this when looking for my inlaws, They wanted the bigger engine but decided against it becuase of the difficulty finding one for the price they wanted to pay.
For 2-3k more, I'd go with a new one too.

I agree. In fact, I went back in time and took your advice to last march.

I think we paid around 33,000 for our Odyssey, and the interior is far better than the T&C was. After all our shopping around, the only thing on the hondas level was the toyota sienna. Honda gave us a better offer, and I am REALLY happy that it gets upper 20's on the highway.
