Yeah, the bizarre thing about Texas law is sides (F & R) no darker than 25%, rear no limit (if you have side mirrors), BUT at inspection, only the front doors are checked and those can't be darker than 20% (taken straight from TxDOT website). So, law says no darker than 25%, but they only check for darker than 20%. It's kind of a freebie.

Don't complain. New York has the toughest tint laws in the country. Freaking 70% tint max.

Yet for all the arguments, factory suncreen in the low 20's is available on all sorts of vehicles. More proof the law is bovine excrement.
