The 7M-GTE had a problem with head gaskets leaking. That was the predecessor to the 2JZ-GTE. I've never heard of rings leaking. The 2JZ long block will put down 800+ to the wheels in stock form. Also, the Getrag V160 6 speed trans will take 1100+ to the rear wheels in stock form so no limitation there.
