So what's your solution...swallow hard and be done with it?
If I dropped 1.7 mill(haha) on a car that only goes 10 blocks before it dies you better believe I'm going after somebody! He11, you should have seen me in the middle of a Ford showroom over an $1100 clutch! It was quite a performance. I'm still waiting for my gold statue!

I dunno, too many questions about this "deal" are unanswered in the article. If he imported it himself, did it go through a grey-market importer? Was it actually street-legal? Did they actually do a once-over on the engine before attempting to drive it on its maiden voyage after it was shipped over? I wonder if it was shipped dry (other than assembly lube) and nobody checked the dipsticks. This just sounds to me like someone doing something stupid and then going on the attack against a manufacturer either because they didn't know any better or figured "He who shouts first and loudest wins."

You'd hope they were smarter than that but we all know that's not always true.
Common sense is not all that common.

I agree with your opinion on this.

"Although the Mercedes technicians determined that the car suffered an oil-pressure related engine failure and needed a new engine, the defendants were unwilling to make any repairs. The complaint asserts that the defendants were aware that several of the other Mercedes AMG roadsters in circulation had oil pressure-related problems."

"Several" So all 5 had oil pressure related problems, yeah right.

I'll say it again. There were AT LEAST 25 made, not 5.

Not that he should, but it'snot like the personthat bought it couldnt afford a new engine.

It would be worse of an issue had it happened to someone with a "normal" vehicle that was getting screwwed and couldn't afford it.

Still sucks though.

There were 25 coupe's and 6 roadsters to be specific.

They were never intended to be road cars, AMG had to make that amount in order to meet ACO homogilation(sp?) for the old GT1 racing class. Also these particular cars are only allowed in the US under a Show & Display title and when they are shipped they are sans fluids. In a vehicle like this if the oiling & hydralic systems are not filled & primed properly you get a very quick failure. (which is my guess on why it failed)
