They need someone tall, statuesque, and bad ass.
I haven't seen anyone in Hollywood who could really pull that off. They'd need the body of Brigitte Neilsen and the face of Monica Bellucci.
Although, Monica's pretty tall herself, and could probably rip up if she wanted to.
At least this is being done by Joss Whedon. Nobody can write a superhero woman like he can.
