I am just glad I went to a school where we didn't need metal detectors. Scary stuff. But the district was good at wasting money after I left though...i.e. build a whole new wing and a year later it is empty and they closed off the top floor because of budget cuts.  Just hope you have a good teaching contract so you can sit back and relax after you retire.
