Well I am back in my "get into shape" phaze, stop smoking, take up mountain biking. I realized how out of shape I was when my friends and I were pushing my car to the dealership late at night (about 2 miles) a few days ago. Sure enough I was the first to slow down, I let go of the car and my legs just buckled. Lol, it was funny, got a nice scare on my knee and it showed me how disgustingly out of shape I am!

I am going to start out riding at night and going for distance because I bascially need to re-learn how to ride. I was very off balance just riding around on concrete! Next I want to hit up the trail off hicks road that goes around the big resevoir.

my friend wants to sell me his specialized rockhopper or stumpjumper or something like that, but I don't really want to spend $800 on smoething I am not serious about yet!

So anybody else ride?

Wow.....you found out the hard way like I did! I was being chased by security at a hotel and fell into the spa fully clothed eek all my friends were hiding outside and my gf was laughing her a$$ off cause I couldnt keep up! How embarrassing, I couldnt even keep my balance along the side of the spa mad
So now, after I get home from work 6:30am, I work out for an hour and a half.
Now that I think about it, there are not any mountains to bike on over here frown

I just started "again" last weekend. I used to do all kinds of crap offroad. I wouldn't spend $800 on a bike unless you really serious. $400 would get you a good enuff bike to learn on and abuse and if you decided to be hardcore then you can get something nicer later.

If your going offroad, it might be a good idea to get a hardtail style bike rather than just a stiff bike. But if you stay on concrete trails or smooth dirt than a stiff bike will work great and its cheaper too.
