DAMN Dude you blew off an oil line!?! How much pressure you got in that thing. I tried pulling one of the hoses and it was not easy at all.

I did this mod simply for the gauges, I wanted two easy spots to hook up oil press and temp and got it with this kit. The fact that now I can change the oil without dumping oil onto the manifolds is kind of nice too.
Useless is in the eye of the beholder. Some may think this is useless, like pete, mark, etc. those people dont mind dripping oil all over the exhaust, or scalding their arm on exhaust pipes, or removing A/C components to plumb one gauge. Others of us like things to be a little easier
AMEN!!!
I always hated dripping oil onto the headers and the side of the block.
Here is the link for anyone who wants it.

I disagree. Having had both the Zetec & the Duratec I'll go for an oil change on the Duratec over the Zetec any day...

That is correct. It is a little tight getting a drill in there but not to much trouble.

I am with Pudmunkie on this one...it made it soo simple to run oil temp and pressure gauges. Yes, it could have been done other ways, but man the bumper cover is only about 10-15mins to take off. Even if the other components are easy they are still more critical IMO than the plastic bumper....less worries all around.

I've run remote oil filters on all kinds of Ford V8s over the last 20 years and never had a problem. I won't hesitate to run one on my Contour.
Improper installation of many things can cause failures, just be methodical and double check your work.

get a plastic juice container and cut it in half, out of the top cut a notch for the oil to flow through, put under the filter and direct the fuild away from everything ...
