I found a link to this video in some other thread (can't find it now). I thought it was hilarious, if a little off-color. An â??in your faceâ? parody on the cultural clash that is happening in Iraq. I guess not everyone has a sense of humor... CNN article on "Hadji Girl" Video

this is why you don't record yourself making off color jokes that you only share with your buddies.

Its what the military does. Period. Ever since way back in the day the military dehumanizes its enemy so that they may do their job efficiently. WWI & II Germans were Krauts. Vietnam = Gooks and Charlie. GWI & II = Haidjis. Somalia = Skinnys.
Where's the uproar about a news paper desacrating the Marine Corps' Eagle, Globe, and Anchor? somethign that means the world to us? Where's the out rage with guys getting their heads sawed off? Where's the outrage with the anti-Christain and anti-Jewish stuff? Oh yeah, THAT's free speech. But, when a White Christian, or [censored], a Christian in general does it, or hell, lets take it a step further, an American does it then, its 'discriminatory.' Give me a [censored] break.
These guys do a job, yes that they signed up to do, in an area of the world that sucks as, on the other signed of the planet. If the 'worst' thing they do to relieve some stress is call the [censored] enemy 'Haidji,' then more power too'em.
OOH Rah.

You know, another case where people just need to lighten up and not take themselves and the world so bloody seriously. I found it rather humorous and refreshing in amongst the excessive sensitivity and male bovine manure we must wade through. http://www.cair.com/video/marine-hadji-girl.wmv

I think there is outrage when someone gets their head sawed off. And it is all freedom of speech. It isn't good judgement to do it in front of a camera, but you can say whatever you want to say as long as it isn't slander. Or anti-US. W just might lock you up.
Oh, and the song is kind of funny.

Ya know, no matter how many times people repeat this line, it just ain't gonna happen. I remember seeing a photo of Martin Sheen at some protest with a piece of duct tape over his mouth looking just FURIOUS, but it's a silly bit of symbolism because everybody knows that he put it on himself. The Dixie Chicks go out and make slams against Bush and country music artists and fans, and then get all self-righteous and offended when those fans decide not to listen anymore, as if people have an obligation to listen to the Chicks, and they call it censorship. I have yet to hear of anyone not being allowed to say what they want to say...having people decide not to listen to you, or argue against you, is not censorship. It's them exercising the same rights that you are.
