I do know 3 things. 1. that amp is very expensive, and will put out close to 1200 watts bridged to 1/2 ohm, please hold on to that AMP. 2. If you have the RCA's hooked up right on the AMP, only the far 2 the RIGHT BASS and FREQ adjustments will work, not the far LEFT one. 3. Bridging your sub will achieve NOTHING. not to be rude. Make sure you used SUB-OUT RCA's or LOW from your CD player. When you have RCA's hooked up correctly, only the far RIGHT freq adjustment and BASS adjust, will work. That amp is prob worth 250 - 400 dollars today. Please keep it, let noone tell you different. Ill say again, only the FAR RIGHT ADJUSTMENT will work when RCA's are in correct spot on the AMPLIFIER, then you will know you have RCA's in the right spot. and that bridge switch either on or off. try both ways for the switch......
The HU is an ALPINE 9833 and it has the SUB RCA pre-outs I have the RCA running from there on the HU to where you see them on the amp in the pics. To be honest w/ you I'm not sure if the bridged switch is turned on or off. I will be able to take another look at it and work on it when I get back to town in a few days.
That being said the RCA's have to be wired correctly on the HU side. I also believe I tried every combination (I can try again) of the other RCA on the amp and the only two that worked are the ones that it is plugged into on the pic (again still don;t know if the bridged switch is on or off so maybe that could be a reason for the treble coming out of the sub).
I know this amp is strong which is why I was only running 1 channel to the sub. So are you saying running only 1 channel is a bad idea? Should I bridge the amp and turn the gain way down? My buddy that is selling me this and another amp for $100 used to power 4 12's with this amp and it was rediculously loud. My 12 sub (only running 1) I believe is rated at 300w. The sub is the old JL12W6. Had it since IIRC the late 90's used it for a few months and now have decided to use it again.
So basically to make a long story short how should I wire up this amp for my sub so I don't blow it and also what can be done to get rid of the treble. P.S. I tried turning the freq all the way down w/ how it is wired now and it did not effect the treble coming out.
Thanks
