Kids already find this information in school, on the internet, on tv, etc. That is why I said ignoring it does nothing. I happened to have educated myself on many illegal drugs and because of it, decided not to try anything other than marijuana.

So legalizing would affect that how??
And cigarette smokes irritates many, it's legal.
The government could limit its use to the home or to special bars. Obviously we don't need people walking around getting high anywhere/everywhere (just as we don't need them walking around getting drunk).

His kids probably already know alot more then he does about the matter. But the truth is not what you hear on the news or on the side of a bus.
The truth is that you're not going to instantly die as soon as you touch the stuff. But you can and most likely will become addicted. You will isolate yourself from your friends. You will take out your angers and frustrations from the moodswings on your family. You WILL piss away your savings in a rather short period of time. And it just keeps bleeding over into your normal life. You forget to pay some bills...you keep putting off getting things done. It turns into a mess.
I'm not trying to convince anyone i haven't done anything bad - but the effects on other people are probably worse than what's been done to me.
And i'm not trying to promote anyone to do it, but it's not my place, nor anyone else's to tell someone not to do something. But i will tell you what it will do to you...and if you're still hell bent on doing it, then do it "safely." (buy a test kit)

Pot itself has no calories but do 'the munchies' have no affect on caloric intake? Doesn't mj somehow initially lower your blood sugar level? Then if the user is wasted, isn't much self-discipline impaired also, with food or other binges to follow? If pot has any propensity to facilitate one's worst habits/vices, that's a huge negative.

I used to smoke in high school but stopped. My ex g/f used to hate that I did it so I gradually stopped. I later developed problems with my stomach. (not because of it)
Last time I tried to smoke I got nauseous right away which I was kinda expecting. I see nothing wrong with smoking once and a while with some friends. Sit down in front a fire outside, have some laughs, and pig out. Good times!
