The major issue is that the behavior should not be illegal and does not harm people who are outside of the circle of consent as an auto theft or identity theft do.

I also do not believe the post tells anybody how to be an addict, but rather facts about X versus the myth and hype surrounding it I believe it is directly on topic for a discussion regarding the legality or illegality of drugs.

I should add that i am not proud if what i've done. While i have hurt myself physically, the damage done to friends, family, and even my business is what's harder to undo...although i'm working on it. Giving people the facts about real problems that aren't going to to away is the best anti drug, I think. If i might be able to help someone else with my personal experiences...i'd like that very much.

EDIT: And if there is anyone here who needs to talk about this sort of thing, by all means pm me. My experience list goes beyond what was posted here.

I donâ??t whine
I donâ??t give a damn about your â??patienceâ? or lack of
I am asking the moderators to chime in.

TGO, maybe your recent lifestyle as an ecstasy addict has given you a distorted view of just how â??householdâ? information on this drug is. Just to be clear, in your posts you point out the following:

1. In your opinion the medical establishmentâ??s view on the physical dangers of this drug is overblown.
2. What the real safe dosage levels and use intervals are.
3. How you have dramatically exceeded those for long periods of time without ill effect.
4. What the most significant risk is (meth) and how cheap and easy it is to protect against it.
5. The fact that you can get â??pretty freakin highâ? on the stuff and still maintain enough of an awareness to not be in â??danger.â?

Sounds to me like the sage, sober, mature and time tested advice of an established addict convincing a first time user that itâ??s â??OK to try it just once.â?

CEG is a car site dedicated to an inexpensive and sporty automobile. A near ideal entry-level car for young high school age kids.

How many 17 year old and younger kids do you think frequent this automobile oriented site for those very reasons? Dozens? Hundreds? More? Attracted here by the fact that they can actually own one of these cars. Of those, how many face near daily peer pressure to become involved with drugs â??? to include ecstasy? If you say â??All of themâ? then I say youâ??re right.

Iâ??m sure itâ??s a struggle to stay â??cleanâ? and talking about it helps. Iâ??m also sure youâ??d like to convince yourself that you really havenâ??t done any long-term harm to your health. (Ecstasy isnâ??t THAT bad). Iâ??m as sure of these things as I am sure that CEG is not the place for any of it.

These kinds of frank, detailed discussions of illegal drug addiction are a slippery slope at best and in my opinion inappropriate anywhere on CEG.

Now, maybe discussing how to defeat a drug test is a little on the edge and that thread was locked. Now, there was nothing wrong with TGO's post. He was not promoting ecstasy addiction/use. He was simply stating a few facts. If anything, maybe there is an ecstasy user on here that will read it and think that buying a test kit is a good idea and it could save their life. Noone is going to read that post, and go out and take ecstasy because of it.

I have two high school age kids. Believe me I know that ignoring it wonâ??t make it go away. I respectfully disagree with you about TGOâ??s ecstasy post.

Rant on:
OK, let's have NO more posts on HOW to break the law! NO MORE step by step how tos -- with PICTURES fer crissakes! --on gutting your precats; installing "off road use only" headers and cat replacing test pipes; installing illegal bright headlights; off road use only nitrous systems; etc etc. CEG has been an academy of crime, and we're all teachers.

So talking about addictions promotes such behaviors. Many of us demonstrate that by our addictions to illegal mods, encouraging others to do the same! And talking about personal experiences and issues? Look out. Especially NO more talking about dating issues among high schoolers! After all, someone may talk about a relationship that happened before they were 18 (or their partner was) and heaven forbid that this forum is thus PROMOTING statutory rape. And yes, even "heavy petting" (I'm trying to protect impressionable youth here by using ancient code words they don't follow) can be criminal in many states. CEG should be an outspoken advocate of NO touching members of the opposite sex or same sex or any sex until all parties are over 21. (Was I supposed to mention Steeda's mom here?) And no candy molds. And no pix of female models, race car drivers, cheerleaders or rounded girls on the back of motorcycles.

Underage drinking? Was anyone under 21 at SZ?
Street racing? Speed contests? Too dark window tints? Loud, louder, loudest exhausts? Is there no end to our transgressions? OMG, CEG is an active conspiracy to continually break the law, there must be some racketeering penalties that can be asserted against us just from being registered here.

And are lite beers and wine coolers gateway drugs for microbrews, Johnny Walker Black and tequila?

Rant off.

Dear CEG: Keep on being CEG. Civilly when possible.

None of those things can directly kill you or cause the incredible heartbreak and loss that a drug addict can bring to themselves and their family.

I thought Jed was being pretty stupid at first too. Then I read his explanation and I see where he's coming from. I don't agree with him, but I can see what he meant by his 'how-to on drug addiction' comment and can appreciate where he's coming from.

Lots of things can cause death and heartbreak, but if anything more attention should be paid attention to these issues than using the addage "if I don't see it, it isn't there", this isn't just at you either. I don't think TGO was trying to glorify drug use but show how it affects everyday people and to provide some insight people might valuable.

As for marijuanna legalization I still stand behind my idea of taxation and controlled use like tobacco or alcohol.

Lets not debate about jed's opinion.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us Jed.

Back on topic.
The goverment would have to enforce the same laws as they do for alcohol.Private sector for smoking.

Example. i am allergic to greens' veg, grass, trees(some) and fruit.

Now i have smoked before. Granted i learned the hardway what happend to me.

My point is, i wouldn't be able to be in public place like a bar while othres smoke MJ. I would be hospitalized.

I can't go to alot of parties without having the owner make sure others are not smoking weed inside/outside where i might be.

So like me alcohol does not pose a threat because its not air born therefore can't hurt me and others. If they did legalize it. Uselss adults would do this infront of there children.(which they already do so now.

Everyone knows atleast one set parents in this world. That are bad parentals

Can you see them smooking weed in the house with there kids getting ready for school in the the morning. There children would arrive to class being high. lol it makes me laugh. Because my friend kristen says some children walk into her hispanic/english class in detroit michigan with students smelling like weed and there eyes red.

Sooooo. I don't see the goverment ever, and i will say never legalize MJ.

I reject your reality and substitute my own.
