I see marijuana on the same level as alchohol, but drinking is by far much worse for you. the worst part is that about half of what the government tells you about marijuana is false, but the other half is true, and this is true for most illegal drugs. will ecstasy cause you to have dead spots in your brain? sure it will, if you use it on a VERY regular basis, then decide to go cold turkey. one pill? not gonna hurt you unless you dehydrate or take 3 of them.
do I think all drugs should be legal? no, but I think pot should have the same restrictions as liquor. you wanna smoke? go ahead, but don't walk around with a lit joint (open container) and you can't drive while stoned. I think the BIGGEST problem is that you can tell someone's BAC within moments of a simple test, but MJ can only be detected on a "in system" or "not in system" within 30 days (or so) type of test, and they're pricey at that.
so many people politicians and "important people" have admitted it's time to legalize it, but unfortunately it would cause a lot of problems with prisoners being released, screwing up our economy even more than it is, and there's still many large sections of the country who are resistant to any change, hence the reason gay marriage is still illegal (not trying to branch out our thread here, but honestly, it might go against your opinions, but it ain't hurting anyone).
