I have seen and heard some crazy things in my life, from both 100% sober people, and people totally wacked out. Sometimes I can't tell the difference between them.

And a drug is a drug is a drug. There are good ones and bad ones. I would say the MJ has is more benifical to society then most "Legal" presription drugs. Rememer Phen-Fen? How about Vioxx? Ya those really helped a lot of people, DIE![/soapbox mode off]

Keep it to yourself? Yes, because doing drugs of any kind usually breeds successful people who give back to society. People who do, such as Edwardo are the exception, not the norm, period. Drug policies are put into affect for a reason. If MJ is 'beneficial' then why does it slow everything down? To me that's not benefial. If you want to say its the less harming or detremental (sp?) than that's another...

My tangent is to legalize the weed, and then tax the [censored] out of it. Its obvious we aren't going to stop it, so lets help the Government out and get more revenue for them to help the deficet that so many people cry about.

BTW, you need a sturdier soapbox, it almost collapsed under me...

I do agree with on the taxing and have the government make money, instead of wasting money on a almost useless drug war. And I am talking about MJ being beneficial, not the other drugs. I know many, many, many people that smoke MJ and are fully functional and have very respectful jobs. So it is safe to say the MJ users do contribute. You are getting these people confused with the Coke, Crack, Heroin, and Meth scum that kill, steal, rob, and prositute to pay for their habits. I have met many people that are so called "potheads", some being very close to me, and I have never seen any of them "Jones" for a joint. But I have seen people that were on "H" and Coke that would sell their first born if would get them another hit.

Well most likey this thread will be locked soon. The last time this issue was brought up this happened.

I am just trying to say that you can not call anyone that has or still does smoke MJ a "pothead" and think they are not a good person or contribute to society. That is just ignorant.

Umm no, acutually I've seen first hand the effects that they plan on different people. Some can handle and some cant. I watched a friend crash his vehicle because he was high and hungry I could really care less if you guys want to live your life in your aunts basement smoking jibbies all day, congradu-[censored]-lations! Oh by the way princess to pong or WTH your name is, is it illegal to abuse prozak, especially if you dont have a perscription?!

I and almost all of my friends are social (weekly) pot smokers. All are educated professionals including an attorney, two engineers, a CPA, and a college professor. The ironic thing is that if some people had their way we would be in prison instead of employed taxpayers. None of us have kids and we don't drive when under the influence.
How you react to alcohol or marijuana has a lot more to do with the type of person you are than the drug itself. People with weak character let it consume their lives.

Whether you agree with it or not, you are breaking the law. Your arguement is the same one being debating about illegal immigration. It could potentially ruin your careers, and just because you don't have kids or a wife, it could ruin those possibilities too...

I don't look down upon 'responsible' pot smokers or drinkers, however, I sure as hell don't feel sorry for you when you get caught and start crying about how 'responsible' you are

I'll start by saying that I don't smoke anything, but don't judge others that do. However, it is pretty much fact that alcohol is more dangerous than weed. The amount of people that kill from drinking and say driving are much higher than any that I have heard of being stoned.

I can't remember who said it but which would you rather have, a bunch of alcoholics that can't drive and get into fights at the bar, or a bunch of lazy ass stoners that are hungry???

I personally don't understand the reasoning behind legalization of alcohol over MJ.

Have fun when you or one of your responsible friends get busted during a drug deal. You gotta get the pot somehow right? Ok, so you grow it... Have fun when your house gets raided. You will get caught in some form... Its just the way the world works. So all of you guys are successful it sounds like, graduated college and got a degree... Real responsible and Mature to potentially throw it all away becuase you want to be "social (weekly) pot smokers." If you get caught, you will regret it...

So if you have a strong character, drugs will chemically react differently?

I think you just smoked your self retarded.
