this is proof that Michigan drivers are some of the dumbest on the road:

on my way to work this morning, i get on 96 East at newburgh. traffic is going kinda slow, but this is expected, as it is 8:45 am, but at least it is moving.
as we get further along, traffic seems to be slowing down. cop got someone pulled over? couple orange barrels? what's causing this?

further down, i see some lights flashing in the westbound lanes. i say to myself, this accident on the westbound side better not be the [censored] reason that east is so slow...
as we come up on this accident, which - for all i can tell - only involves one truck, which is on its roof on the north-side bank of grass, a few cop cars, and a rig making its way through, traffic comes to a hault.

a few minutes later, open territory. THERE WAS NO [censored] OBSTRUCTION IN THE EAST LANES!! WHAT THE [censored] MICHIGAN!!

why do people do that? are someone else's mistakes that interesting? appealing? attractive? the guy flipped his truck, and i don't see an ambulance on the scene, so he's probably okay, and if you're not gonna stop and help since there are so many cops already there, GET THE [censored] ON WITH YOUR LIFE!!!!

FYI, that's not just Michigan. That's everywhere. Get used to it. Too many dumb and bad drivers on the road that can't focus on their own crap.

I have a good one, from NJ...

An older MPV was swerving eratically, dipping on Friday during rush hour. Mind you, this is on an on-ramp to the Turnpike. He cleared the ramp and took off. Not 30 seconds later, I come around a turn, with lots of blue smoke. The idiot lost it! He lost it on a curve and ended up hitting the curb, breaking an axle. He got out of the car and scratched his head... Needless to say, I laughed and yelled out instant Karma. I did pull over to help, but someone was already helping out the jackarse.

It made my morning commute that much better!

Cops should have to carry some form of retractable screening that they can put up at accident sites to stop the rubbernecking. I never understood the mentality to slow down to see someone even just changing a tire on the other side of the highway...

We love car accidents in this country. We're obsessed with car accidents!
I know your like me, its like 2 in the morning, it's dead quiet.
Your in you're house watching tv, your in bed.
All of a sudden outside at the corner you hear.
SCREECH
Damnit! [censored] that sounded like it was going to hit.
You always want it to hit. SCREECH. Come on! Nothing! Uh.
Then when you finally hear the crash your psyched, its like,
Screech where are my shoes? Yes, where are my shoes?
Have you seen my shoes? [censored] it, i'm going out without shoes.
I'm going out shoeless. Right, you come out of you're house,
all you're neighbours are coming out, everyones coming out,
your like waving at each other. You're psyched to see each other,
come on! Lets go, you wanna go together?
Come on lets go, you me and you, no no, you wait for the next group,
you wait for the next group. We'll go as a team, no no you wait,
you wait for the next group.

Then you get out there, its no big deal,
but everyone stands out there for like, 2 extra hours.
Its over, no ones hurt or anything but everyone has to stay out there.
Even if its hot everyone acts like its cold and [censored]. Hey, whats up (chilly).
Just had to see what was going on.
And It doesn't matter who you start talking to,
I guarantee everyone is having the same exact conversation.
No matter who you get into it with, all anybody is saying like back
and forth is like, Yeah, yeah well no I was in my kitchen,
and i heard it so i came out. You were in your living room?
I was in my kitchen cleaning a dish. I heard it, I came out.
What you were in you're basement? He was in his living,
I was in the kitchen cleaning a dish, I was really cleaning,
and I heard it so i came out. What? Shoes? No, no, [censored] shoes!
Haha shoes, hahaha listen to this guy with shoes.
Hahaha you, Shoes, over here.

And everyone always wants to be a part of like the police,
you know what I mean. We always wanna be involved,
we wanna talk to the cops when ever they come to your, you know,
Officer, yeah yeah, I'm sorry, yeah I just want you to know,
if it helps in your investigation, I was in my kitchen, and i heard it,
so I came out. I will testify in court I was cleaning a dish,
I will bring the dish as exhibit A. And this guy, he was in his basement.
Tell him what you told me, tell him what you told me,
Thats not what he told me, he's lying, thats not what you told me.

Here in Chi-town Gawkers can cause you to be 45min late for work (as was the case a couple weeks ago)
At least in Michigan people have a concept of "passing lane" on the highways.. In IL its every A-hole for them self regardless of how many lanes or how fast/slow you are going.
