Do ya'll think it'll sell? I think it depends LARGELY on pricing and their marketing. I only see it prospering in large cities and major metropolitian areas. There's no chance it'll sell well here in TX IMO. The car just isn't made for long wide open roads and highway driving. Not to mention that the pickup truck being the number one selling vehicle here. They would eat Smart cars for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Is it Smart or not?

They are all over the place here in the Springs. I have seen 6 or so, starting price is 28K. That is a very exspensive street legal golf cart. -B.

Thats just recockulious. Its a cute and interesting idea, and I definately would be interested... if they kept the price under 10K for something completely loaded. THAT would catch my eye. Hell for 28K mide as well just get a prius, more space and more performance with similar gas mileage for the same price.

Sure it's the Smart Car you're seeing....

And not this....

From my understanding the Smart Cars aren't sold over here yet. Since it's a street legal car it would have to go through DOT testing and the whole nine. That second car is already all over the place. I saw a few of them this week.

I saw a smart, had FL tags on it, but was definitely on the road.

The regular smart is kinda meh, but the smart roadster is nice.

They are city cars and do fairly well in crash tests. Top Gear tested them and they did really well for something so small. Plus people here hardly ever drive them on the highway.

Good luck, M-B. You're going to have to undercut the Mini pricing to get anywhere with that.

I was hoping they'd be a bit cheaper than that when they FINALLY arrived here . They'll definately have to come down in price to sell here in the US . If they were cheaper , I'd be all over that . My dad's been waiting (im)patiently for the Smart to get here , and frankly I believe had given up hope . I wonder if he'll buy at that price - probably not .
