I purchased what looked like a pre-98 console (brand new) and it looked identical - with one exception, it doesn't have the extra storage area above the ash tray (and hence leaves a gap at the bottom of the instrument panel. Everything else is the same, mounting holes, shift boots, e-brake boot- anyone have any idea what this console is for?
