WTF with NECO? Still havent recieved my pass, Question for the network guys, how can I easily and cheaply set up a 2nd computer in my Apt. with DSL so both machines can run at same time. I do not want to run a hub as machines are far apart and I don't need the woman bittchin at me about 50 ft of cable strewn throught the hallway! Also I just downloaded CloneCD, is this the best for duplicatiiong discs. I have Nero 5.5, came with my new CDRW, and would like to use that but I have no manual on setting up cloneing. I tried Disc to Disc copying, that didn't work. How to put text on the song titles so my Car CD player can read the disc title using Nero 5.5. Props to my boys, I will reward with P0rN and/or great sites to get free paswords Oh yeah, in laymans terms!

If you don't want to use a hub and cabling, you will have to go wireless. How do you connect to your DSL? A usb cable or a network cable? Basically, you'll need to get two wireless network cards, put one in each computer, and set one up to be a 'host', and use internet connection sharing (Windows 98SE, 2000 or XP). I have a spare 3com wireless network card (11mbps) I can part with for 40 bucks, costs 90 at the store. Are you using a CD-R disc or a CD-RW to do your cloning? I've never ever gotten a CD-RW to write correctly to be readable. CD-R's, yes. I use Sony CD Extreme (I will post a link to where you can download it for free from Sony in Thailand, takes a bit but it's worth it). It works good, never had a problem with it. And never burn at max speed, always burn one step below. Link to Sony Thailand .ZIP download for CD Extreme. Works great.

Sorry, quick note, you do have one other option for home networking, and that's to use something like Netgear's (Shameless corporate plug for a company I have no faith in anymore, though Netgear is good stuff ) phoneline networking. I think it operates at up to 10mbps using your phone line in the house, and it does not interrupt telephone useage. Those cards are like, 40 bucks each I think.

Woohoo!
Thanks for the help. Gee 2 air cards at $80 each + wireless router at $150+ is a bit much. Maybe 50 ft of cable aint so bad.
Clone CD seems to work great for copying CD to CD. My next mission is to learn how to copy a Dreamcast backup, any clues?
Its the whole disc title thing that is throwing me for a loop in Nero. I just do not understand how to burn the song titles so my Sony Car CD player will read em.
Runing a Cendyne/Verbatim 32x12x40 And Yes I rarely burn at full speed. Data I will but most music I select around 24X. Using cheapo discs from Fry's at 14 cents each does not seem to affect anything either.
All help is appreciated

You won't need the wireless router. And I think Sony's CD-Extreme burner program will let you label tracks so the CD-player will read them properly. (names)

(names) If I dont need a wireless router, the air card in my machine using the DSL USB modem will transmit to my other computer? Hook me up with the Sony software or is it easily found on file trading programs like Kazaa? Office 2K by chance?
