Good news. If nothing else, hopefully our intelligence sources will be encouraged by this development. On the other hand, I assume a crackdown will occur within the remainder of AlQaeda's leadership (if there even is such a thing at this point).

I wonder if it will destabilize their organisation or simply provide a momentary glitch that will be overcome with the apointment of another dirtbag into the leadership of the terrorist movement in Iraq. I hope it's the begin of the end of terrorism in Iraq, but we all know that a wish like that is probably overly optimistic.

Depends on if AQ in Iraq think that they've got a mole. If you were next in line to lead but you didn't know who the sellout was, would you be so eager to take over? I definitely expect this to destabilize the organization.

Beginning of the end for them IMHO. Not only is he dead, but some of his top people. Furthermore & more importantly, there will be a great deal of intelligence available there: Papers, notes, cell phones with numbers & such, computer data, and simply the IDs of the people with him will help lead to more captures & other successes.
Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.
