Some times if it is a vacuum hose, you would not have gasoline leaking on the ground.

Yes, maybe the cap needs to be a little tighter. I usually let it go at least 3 "clicks" to be sure.

If the code shows up again later, then you can try the other suggestions (new cap, tests, etc.....)




Update:

I have double check the fuel tank and fuel filter area, it seens fine, nothing wrong and didn't smell any gas around hose. could that be the part that feed to the intake above the PCV valve that is not working? just wonder. I know I have only change my PCV valve once so far, but I am not sure if you really need to change it ever year or something. most of the time I just let the cap click once that's all. when I put some gas treatment yesterday and put some gas in, I did make sure that i heard at least 3 clicks before i close the gas door.
