Some times if it is a vacuum hose, you would not have gasoline leaking on the ground.

Yes, maybe the cap needs to be a little tighter. I usually let it go at least 3 "clicks" to be sure.
If the code shows up again later, then you can try the other suggestions (new cap, tests, etc.....)
