Ok guys i need your help. I know a few of you have to know sumthin about plasma's. I am lookin for 42inch going in the bedroom an looking to spend around 2grand. I dont have a name brand in mind so i am open to all. Buying last years models are not out of the questions either...I have found some samsund that seem pretty nice but i still dont know..

Three words: To-Shi-Ba I owned one for about 3 days and had to resist pulling it out of the box after I saw what it looked like in the store. I won it but traded it for some sweet kitchen appliances. Didn't need it since I have an HD 102" projector already

but if you want plasma....
samsung has good models, and some okaaay models. my friend bought some samsungs for his house and i didnt care for the pic quality. but i saw one at the store yesterday that looked real nice. just do some major window shopping and you'll see the difference.

not sure how it is in yay area CA but a co-worker just bought one here and it ran him about $4K. nice pic though, his is a sony and we have already told him that we are using it to watch the world cup

LCDs are not as good as plasmas, period. there are only 2 companies in the world that manufacture plasmas so the "name" on the front doesnt really mean too much. both companies turn out a quality product. you are good to go.

Keep in mind for 2k that you might not get an HDTV, Personally I wouldn't buy a Plasma at that end of the market because it is more about bling-bling than picture quality, but it's a free country.

From what i've seen i really dont like the l.c.d for just watchin tv or movies.. yeah i think samsung might be my choice.. any good place on line that anyone knows about????
