got a 97 contour with 263K miles. V4 DOHC. She has been put up for the winter and I am trying to get her back in shape. I had this problem before she went into storage. At idle she runs rough but open the throttle a bit and she purrs. I was doing some tinkering. Fuel pressure is OK. I cannot find a vaccum leak either. I did notice something when I was checking my vaccum hoses. If i pull one off the throttle body it runs perfect at idle.
I am sure I need to clean my intake manifold and I did see the "chemical clean" in the how to. Has anyone tried that method? I was worried about all that crap fouling the rest of my engine as it gets flushed through.
I cleaned my MAF that did not help.
Any tips or suggestions would be welcome.
