Not to take this thread in too far of a tangent, but KBB is so completely full of **** it isn't even funny. Case(s) in point.
When I sold my Volvo last year, I couldn't find anyone willing to pay what they had listed as "private party:good condition" considering the car had no rust, never been in an accident and had service records from dealers since day 1. Futhermore, when I bought my Infiniti I bought it for less than they had it listed for as trade in value, and this was at a dealer!!! Coincidently when I sold it, I only got what they had listed as trade in value (dealers weren't even coming close to what KBB had listed for trade-in). Same story with my Escape (although I haven't sold it yet, I am sure it will be the same story). KBB smokes some seriously wicked crack or somethin'
Consumers aren't known for following a known formula, so KBB can't take into account fluctuations in markets and demand/supply.
KBB is good for what it is, simply to gauge the ballpark price one should charge for a vehicle.
