KBB doesn't take in much account for how rare a car is. KBB is pretty stupid sometimes...especially when cars have really low mileage.

KBB takes into account what cars routinely sell for and gather evidence that supports that. So if KBB private party value is $8K I'm sure they did their research to support that a ten year old Mustang that SVT made about 10,000 of that year will sell for about $8,000.

Rare or not, the car did not hold its resale value all that well. Much like my SVT Contour

Not to take this thread in too far of a tangent, but KBB is so completely full of **** it isn't even funny. Case(s) in point.

When I sold my Volvo last year, I couldn't find anyone willing to pay what they had listed as "private party:good condition" considering the car had no rust, never been in an accident and had service records from dealers since day 1. Futhermore, when I bought my Infiniti I bought it for less than they had it listed for as trade in value, and this was at a dealer!!! Coincidently when I sold it, I only got what they had listed as trade in value (dealers weren't even coming close to what KBB had listed for trade-in). Same story with my Escape (although I haven't sold it yet, I am sure it will be the same story). KBB smokes some seriously wicked crack or somethin'

"Bros before Hoes" <-- More men need this mentality.
