So at about 11 last night, I got what has since been the worst headache I've ever had in my life. I'm not sure if it's a migraine or not (given I've never had one) but damn does it hurt! I barely slept last night because it hurt so bad. I've taken tylenol a few times and Excedrin migraine stuff twice. Any suggestions on how to get the little man in my head to stop hitting my brain with a sledgehammer?

caffeine works.
i am surprised the excedrin migrane didnt work.
my fiance had a migrane so bad once it was causing her to throw up, she thought she had the flu or something.

i went out and got her the excedrin and it went away within an hour.

My wife used to get migraine. Her doctor gave her something called a beta blocker.

If you can get someone to take you to a doctor, they can give you a shot of vistriol/demerol (muscle relaxant and stress reliever). You should be fine within one hour. But you need someone to drive you home after that.

In addition, Imitrex (sumatriptan) works real well too if it is migraine. It is also a prescription.

Sometimes, they will also prescribe Xanax, a sleeping pill.

i get about 2 migranes a year... but when I get them, I can feel them for about a week. The first day I have one, I cant get out of bed, Excedrine doesnt even do anything. It usualy takes about 2 days before im not useless again.

Well, I'm not sure it's a migraine given that I've never had one. I don't really seem to be sensitive to light. My mom get them all the time and she said usually it's her whole head. Mine is just in the back, almost on my neck. I have felt like I was gonna hurl a few times. Maybe I just have some sort of virus or something? It's nowhere near as bad as it was last night though. I wanted to cry.

When I get migranes, which isn't often, I usually end up puking too. But I don't notice the light sensitivity so much. Very hot showers focusing on my scalp help. The pain usually ends up feeling like a steel band wrapping around my head.

Unfortunately, reading a computer screen will make it worse.

x2. This is the only thing that has ever helped my wife, she used to get them frequently. Take it at the 1st sign of a migraine. Worked great for her.
