No. Many publications have already reported extensively on almost all of these facts. I posted the Rolling Stone article because it neatly sums up the elements of the story. And it is written for everyone, not just for policy wonks.

Your satire is not far from the truth. The mainstream media is owned by very wealthy corporations, which are owned and run mainly by Bush supporters. As a result, very little gets reported that the business and political elite don't want us to know.

The press today has all but abandoned investigative journalism. This is no secret; it has been widely discussed in critical journals. Let me know if you want more information on this.

I remember 35-40 years ago when big media pursued investigations into just about everything. The castration of investigative journalism is a relatively new phenomenon, and I'm not sure our democracy will survive it.
