I have a friend who had similar troubles because her e-mail address was her first initial, last name, and "06". She's an incredibly popular person, president of several clubs and a sorority, etc., and many people forgot the "06" in her e-mail address. The person whose address kept getting these accidental e-mails was kind enough to forward them to her for a few years until she got fed up. My advise is to e-mail this person (given that you know his e-mail address) and explain the situation. Kindly forward the e-mails for perhaps a few days and then start ignoring them (or having fun with them).

I have another friend whose campus e-mail address was a single character (for example, b@wpi.edu) and also got random e-mails often. However she never knew the person who they were intended for so she just enjoyed the pictures sent (usually of some family's puppy).
